OMAHA, Neb - Jamie White's fourth homer of the season gave the Mavericks a 1-0 lead in the fourth, but the Shockers responded with two of their own to take a 3-1 win over Omaha in its home opener.

Omaha falls to 11-8.

How It Happened

The Shockers tallied a leadoff hit in the first three innings, but the first run of Wednesday's game didn't come until the fourth inning.
White nailed the first Omaha hit with a solo blast over the left field fence for a 1-0 Maverick lead.
Wichita State responded with its own home run. Barnard sent one over the center field fence for a 2-1 WSU lead.
Lucas added another for the Shockers with one more homer. They took a 3-1 edge in the sixth.
The Mavericks loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh with a pair of walks and a hit-by-pitch, but the runners were stranded giving WSU the win.

Inside the Box Score

Wednesday marked the final non-conference game of the season.
White recorded her fourth homer of the year. It was the only Omaha hit of the game.
Kamryn Meyer pitched a complete game. She retired seven batters and falls to 6-3 overall.
