
Mavericks Take Ninth At Shortened Tournament

Springfield, Mo.- The Omaha men's golf team finishes the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate, hosted by Missouri State.
The Mavericks take a share of ninth place home, scoring 288 in the second round for a total score of 589.
The two-day tournament was originally scheduled for 54 holes, but was shortened to a 36-hole event due to rain and thunderstorms.
Christopher Atkinson finished with 70(-1) in the second round for a total score of 144(+2). The freshman bogeyed just one hole in round two on his way to a share of 19th place on the leaderboard.
Carter Doose shot one-over in the second round for a two-round total of 146(+4). The sophomore birdied six holes, taking a share of 33rd place overall.
Mathew Halvorson and Kurtis Rodriguez matched scores of 73(+2) in the second round. Halvorson ends with a total score of 148(+6) and Rodriguez takes home 150(+9).
Phoomintr Kaewvichien duplicated his first round with another 78(+7) in round two. The junior totaled 156 in his first event of the spring season.
The Mavericks will stay home for the next invite, the Stampede at Goose Creek Golf Course. Action from Elkhorn begins Monday and Tuesday April 11-12 at 8:30 a.m.
