Four Mavericks Claim All-League Honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Four Omaha softball players were tabbed All-League Tuesday morning. Kamryn Meyer and Izzy Eltze were named first team, while Jamie White and Lynsey Tucker made the Second Team. It marks White's second All-League honor, and the first of Meyer's, Eltze's, and Tucker's.
Meyer was named to the first team as arguably the best pitcher in the Summit League. She leads the league in ERA (1.13), opponent batting average (.138), strikeouts (260), shutouts (11) and wins (20). She ranks in the NCAA top-25 in six categories. With 11.8 strikeouts per seven innings, Meyer ranks second. She's third with 11 shutouts, fifth with 3.25 hits allowed per seven innings, 10th with a 1.13 ERA, 10th in total strikeouts with 260, and 22nd with 20 wins.
Meyer became the program's single-season strikeout leader last weekend notching her 260th of the year. She also set the program's single-game record on two occasions. She retired 18 Tommies to break it and just a week later she downed 19 Coyotes to up it one more strikeout. Meyer pitched a no-hitter earlier this season vs. UTSA. It marked the second of her career. She also pitched two one-hitters.
Meyer was named the Summit League Pitcher of the Week five times this season, and most recently took home Summit League Female Athlete of the Month honors.
Eltze joins Meyer on the All-Summit first team. After an explosive weekend at Western Illinois, Eltze claimed the top spot at the plate for the Mavericks. She is hitting .385 over 41 starts for Omaha. The sophomore outfielder has 55 hits, including nine doubles, five triples, and a team-leading nine homers. Her five triples this season ranks 17th in the country. Eltze also has 35 runs, 29 RBI, and nine stolen bases.
Eltze tallied a career-high four hits in two games this season. She finished 4-for-5 at South Dakota with a triple and home run. Two weeks later, Eltze went 4-for-4 at Western Illinois. She also recorded a triple and homer in the meeting. At the beginning of the season, Eltze strung together an 11-game hitting streak. She tallied at least two hits in six of those games.
White landed on the All-Summit second team. She earned first team honors last season. White finished the regular season hitting .364 over 41 starts. She recorded 40 hits, including 10 doubles and eight homers. She led Omaha with 32 RBI and added 22 runs scored. White's on-base percentage (.514) ranked 32nd in the country and first in the league.
The senior third baseman tallied a hit in eight of the last 10 games for the Mavericks highlighted by a 3-for-3 outing at South Dakota. She recorded a homer, three RBI and two runs scored. White notched a season-high four hits at North Dakota. She doubled and recorded two RBI and one run vs. the Fighting Hawks.
White earned two Player of the Week honors this season for her efforts vs. North Dakota and South Dakota.
Joining White on the second team is second baseman Tucker. Tucker played a flawless season in the infield for Omaha. She didn't commit a single error with 72 putouts and 45 assists over 41 starts. Tucker was third on the team hitting .342 with 46 hits, including nine doubles and a triple. Tucker tallied 24 runs, 16 RBI, and a team-high 16 stolen bases.
Tucker went on a 10-game hitting streak near the start of the season spanning from a two-hit performance at Incarnate Word on Feb 20 to a base-hit vs. Georgia Southern on March 6. She set a season-high three hits on two occasions. Most recently, she finished 3-for-3 at Western Illinois with three runs scored. She also went 3-for-3 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff with a triple, one run, and one RBI.
These four Mavericks and the rest of the Omaha squad open Summit League Tournament action on Thursday, May 12. Omaha earned the No. 2 seed for the second straight season and a first-round bye. The Mavericks will play the winner of No. 3 North Dakota State vs. No. 6 North Dakota at 1:30 pm in Brookings, South Dakota.
