Olson Signs With Omaha Softball

OMAHA, Neb. – Head softball coach Mike Heard announced the signing of Alex Olson in late July. She will join the team this season as a junior transfer.
"We are very excited for Alex to join our team," said Heard. "Alex is coming off a great season at Butler, which is one of the top jucos in the country. We feel she has the potential to be an immediate contributor on the field. Alex is also a high character individual who will fit in well with our team culture and do well in the classroom."
Last season, Olson hit.506 in conference action and .479 overall. She recorded 12 homers and 46 RBI helping post a 1.000 slugging percentage in league play. Olson added 45 runs scored on the year and was awards First Team All-Conference Honors.
"My decision to choose Omaha was easy," said Butler. "From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt at home and excited. The amazing coaches and staff were welcoming and kind. From my initial phone call with Coach Heard, I felt as though Omaha would be a perfect fit and after meeting them my decision was that much easier. I have family in and around Omaha, and I am blessed to be able to spend these next 2 years close to them. I am so grateful for this opportunity, and I can't wait to get started. "
