Mavericks Capture Season Best 2nd Place Finish at Platte River Rumble

In their fourth meet of the season, the Omaha Mavericks captured their best finish of the year placing second overall at their home meet, the Platte River Rumble. All five point placers for the Mavericks finished in the top 20.
"Extra proud of our team! From top to bottom our team made improvements. Whether it was time, position, or just little moments throughout today's competition," Omaha head coach Cliff Cisar said. "It was incredibly special to have them supported by their friends, families, teammates, and our department."
Kamryn Ensley paced all Mavericks this afternoon finishing sixth overall with a time of 21:38.63. She was followed closely by Lauren Metzger who finished with a personal best 22:25.11 for 11th place. Rounding out Omaha's top three was Maddie Yardley who secured a 16th place finish with a time of 22:38.55.
"Kamryn ran a very solid race and behind her Lauren and Maddie ran the most pivotal races for their seasons thus far," Cisar said. "That trio allowed us to gain enough positions to solidify a 2nd place team finish."
Freshman Katelyn Johnston registered another personal best this afternoon running to an 18th place finish with a time of 22:41.88. Lior Kremer was the final point placer for the Mavericks. Kremer finished 19th overall with a time of 22:46.62.
"Followed closely by freshman Katelyn Johnston who is learning more and more at each attempt at the 6k and is having a very solid freshman campaign." Said Cisar.
"Looking forward to this group getting some much-earned rest tomorrow and back at it next week to begin preparations for the Summit League Championships in two weeks." Cisar said.
