Powells Point, N.C.-- The Omaha men's golf team holds 12th place on the team leaderboard after the second round at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on Monday, Oct. 23.Â
The Mavericks scored 297 in the second round, improving by 10 strokes from the first round for a 36-hole total of 604. They sit six strokes behind 11th-place Drake, and 14 strokes ahead of 13th place St. Joseph's (PA) with one round remaining. Drexel leads the tournament after a two-round total of 575. Drexel's Drue Nicholas is at the top of the leaderboard with a total of 138.
Nolan Johnson scored 16 par-or-better holes in the second round for a score of 73 (+2). Johnson leads the Mavericks after two rounds and shares 28th place overall with a total of 148. Christopher Atkinson is a stroke behind Johnson with one round to play. Atkinson scored 78 (+7) in the second round and holds 32nd place on the individual leaderboard with a two-round total of 149.Â
Josh Peters used three birdies and an eagle for a round-two score of 72 (+1). Peters is tied for 41st place with a total of 152 heading into the final round on Tuesday. Connor Wilson scored 74 (+3) in the second round and shares 51st place with a total of 155. Austin Goodrum matched his first-round score of 81 in the second and is tied for 70th with a 36-hole score of 162.Â
