Ludtke Garners Week 5 NCHC Defenseman of the Week Honors

Sophomore blueliner Griffin Ludtke has been named the Week 5 NCHC Defenseman of the Week. Ludtke scored one goal and tallied two assists for a plus-3 rating in two games against No. 11 Western Michigan.
Ludtke netted the first goal of Friday night's contest when he ripped a shot from the blueline to light the lamp. Later in the evening, Ludtke tallied the primary assist on Nolan Sullivan's power play goal. In the series finale, Ludtke assisted on Ty Mueller's first goal of the season to give the Mavericks a 2nd period 1-0 lead over Western.
The Elko, Minnesota native garners his first NCHC weekly award of his career with this week's honor. It's the second weekly award a Maverick skater has earned this season. Jo Lemay was named the Week 2 Defenseman of the Week.
Ludtke and the Mavericks welcome the Long Island Sharks to Baxter Arena this weekend to wrap up Omaha's eight-game home stand.
