Omaha, Neb. - The Omaha Mavericks topped the Peru State Bobcats at Sapp Fieldhouse in a 92-70 contest.

Omaha improved to a 3-6 overall record on the season.

Leaders For Omaha
Five Mavericks hit double-digits in Sunday's game, led by Morgann Gardner with 19 points. Gardner went 7-of-10 on field goals and 5-of-7 on free throws. Grace Cave recorded the first double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Polina Nikulochkina led with five assists and one block.

Leaders for Peru State
Samantha Stewart, Maddy Duncan, and Hailey Ingram were the only three to score double-digits, each putting up 13 points. Stewart paced the Bobcats with nine rebounds and four steals.

Team Stats
The Mavericks led in shooting 47.5% (29-of-61) to Peru State's 36.1% (26-of-72). Omaha trailed in three-pointers with 25% (4-of-16) compared to 33.3% (10-of-30). Despite having a lower free throw percentage 73.2% to 80%, the Mavericks made 30-of-41 whereas the Bobcats went 8-of-10.

Inside the First Quarter
Katie Keitges got the game started with a jumper at 9:49 and started the Mavericks' six-point streak. Omaha had a freeze in scoring for six minutes but got back on the board with a layup by Stanley at 1:45. Gardner made one final layup with 43 seconds left to end the first quarter 17-14 in favor of the Bobcats.

After starting the game trailing 6-0, the Bobcats went on a streak, racking up 15 points over six minutes. Stewart went 3-of-5 on field goals in the first quarter and Duncan made two steals.

Inside the Second Quarter
The Mavericks chipped away at the deficit through the second. At 5:31 Kennedi Grant made a defensive rebound then made a jumper to tie the game up. After going back and forth the rest of the half, Gardner made a layup with five seconds left to lead at the half 38-37.

After giving up an eight-point lead, the Bobcats slowly gave up their lead. Peru State shot 44.4% of their field goals in the second, going 8-of-18 and 66.7% on three-pointers.

Inside the Third Quarter
Deanay Watson got the second half started with a free throw at 9:46. The Mavericks got the lead up to nine at 3:05 after a three-pointer by Aaliyah Stanley. Stanley scored 3-of-5 field goals, contributing 10 of the 26 points in the third.

The Bobcats got their first basket at 9:20 after a layup by Stewart. At 7:29 Peru State was up 46-43, but they were held there as they gave up 12 points to the Mavericks. The Bobcats shot a 87.5% on free throws in the third but 28.6% behind the arc.

Inside the Fourth Quarter
Ana Nikulochkina scored the first basket at 9:35 in the fourth. Starting with a set of free throws the Mavericks scored 10 points in a minute and a half to put a 21-point gap between them and Peru State. To close the game, Aaliyah Stanley scored the last point of the game on a free throw, marking her 1000th career point.

The Bobcats had their lowest scoring quarter only putting up 14 points. They shot 35.3% on field goals going 6-of-17. They also struggled on the threes going 1-of-7.

The Omaha Mavericks will take a break from home games as they are slated for three road games in the coming weeks. They will be back in action on Monday, Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m. to tip off against Texas Southern.
