Pilakouta Named Second Team All-Summit

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Elena Pilakouta earned her first career All-Conference accolade today when she was named to Second-Team All-Summit Wednesday afternoon, the Summit League announced.
Pilakouta led the Mavericks in points (388), PPG (13.4), rebounds (206), and RPG (7.1). All four rank in the top 10 in the Summit League as well. Her .629 FG% (158-for-251) was also the sixth best in the entire NCAA. In league play, Pilakouta saw her PPG rise to 14.0 and her RPG to 7.6, while her FG% increased to .662.
Pilakouta recorded 22 double-digit scoring games this season, three of which saw her eclipse 20 points, including a 30-point performance vs. Oral Roberts on January 28. She also pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds in that game as she finished the regular season with six total double-doubles.
Earlier in the season, Pilakouta made 20 consecutive field goals spanning parts of three games at North Dakota (1/12), North Dakota State (1/14), and Denver (1/16). That Denver game was perhaps the most notable of the season for her as she officially crossed the 1000-point mark, becoming just the 27th Maverick in history and fourth in the Division I era to do so. This also made her the 11th Maverick to ever record at least 1000 points and 500 rebounds in their career. Pilakouta currently sits at 16th all-time on Omaha's points leader board with 1165 points and second in FG% at .536.
Pilakouta will have at least one more chance to climb up the leader boards as the Mavericks head to the Summit League Tournament this Sunday at 3 p.m. to take on North Dakota in Sioux Falls, S.D.
