Guevin and Lemay Land NCHC All-Rookie Team Honors

Patrolling the blueline together for most of the season, the freshmen D-pair of Jacob Guevin and Joaquim Lemay were voted to the 2022-23 NCHC All-Rookie Team. Full team listed below.
The rookie blueliners have combined for 26 points this season. Guevin lit the lamp three times and added 12 assists for his season point total of 15 in 33 games played. Guevin was also named an NCHC Defenseman of the Week in January. Lemay, a Washington Capitals draft pick, played in 29 games and scored his one goal of the campaign in the series finale against Long Island where he also registered one of his 10 assists. He tallied his only multi-point game of the year in that game.
The French-Canadian duo are the seventh and eighth players in program history to garner NCHC All-Rookie Team honors. They join Jake Guentzel (2013-14), Luc Snuggerud (2014-15), Evan Weninger (2015-16), Taylor Ward (2018-19), Brandon Scanlin and Joey Abate (2019-20).
Guevin and Lemay helped play a big role in the Mavericks finishing third in the NCHC this season. Omaha will take on the North Dakota Fighting Hawks this weekend in the opening round of the NCHC Playoffs.
