Mavericks Finish First Round at Indian Creek

Elkhorn, Neb.-- The Omaha women's golf team completed the first round of the Stampede at the Creek on Monday, Apr. 10. Play was halted with some golfers thru 16-18 in the second round.

Play was stopped at sunset before a few teams could complete round two. Play will resume at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday with the final few holes of the second round, immediately followed by the final round. Results from today's action include only the first round.

The Mavericks are in ninth place after an opening round score of 315. They sit six strokes behind North Dakota, which holds eighth place with 309.

Nicole Hansen led the Mavericks in the first round. Hansen recorded a 76 (+4) in round one. Two strokes behind Hansen is another senior, Mika Miyata. Miyata recorded a score of 78 (+6) in the first round.

Sydney Taake posted an 80 (+8) in round one. Emma Kirvan, Emily Karmazin, and Maddie Simon (golfing individually) all sit a stroke behind Taake with matching round one scores of 81. Macarena Garcia scored 87 over the first 18.
