Mavericks Share Third Place After Two Rounds at WIU

Silvis, Ill.-- The Omaha men's golf team is tied for third place after the first two rounds of the WIU Invitational on Monday, Apr. 3.
The Mavericks totaled 295 in the first round and 300 in the second for a team score of 595 over 36 holes. South Dakota and St. Thomas share first place with scores of 589 over two rounds.
Mathew Halvorson leads the Mavericks after day one action. Halvorson scored a 73 (+2) in the first round and a 74 (+3) in the second. The graduate student is currently in ninth place on the leaderboard with a two-round total of 147.
Connor Wilson and Kurtis Rodriguez share 10th place overall with matching scores of 149 over 36 holes. Wilson and Rodriguez both shot a 74 (+3) in the first round and a 75 (+4) in the second round.
Nolan Johnson finished the first day with a score of 151. Josh Peters is two strokes behind him with a total of 153 so far. Johnson shares 18th place after a 75 (+4) in round one and a 76 (+5) in round two. Peters is tied for 31st place with scores of 74 (+3) and 79 (+8) over the first 36 holes.
Golfing individually and tied for first place among all golfers is Carter Doose. Doose recorded a career-best round of 68 (-3) in the first round. He added a 74 (+3) in the second round for a day one total of 142. Doose shares the lead with St. Thomas' Matthew Armstrong and South Dakota's Hunter Rebrovich.
Noah Hartman scored 78 (+7) in round one, and 74 (+3) in round two. Hartman shares 27th place overall with a 36-hole total of 152.
