Mavericks Fall in 14 Inning Defensive Battle

The Omaha Mavericks played in their longest game of the season this afternoon against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. Omaha lost the defensive 1-0 when SDSU was awarded the winning run off a throwing error that ended up in the dugout. Omaha will face the Creighton Bluejays in a Tuesday tilt next week before traveling to Kansas City for a three game series with the Roos.

- Senior ace Kamryn Meyer pitched nine brilliant shutout innings. She faced 38 batters and allowed just five hits while striking out four.
- Sydney Nuismer came into the ballgame in the 10th inning. She stranded a runner on third base in the bottom of the 10th and 13th innings to extend the game.
- Nuismer allowed three hits and struck out three batters in 4.1 innings pitched.
- The winning run was unearned as Osmundson singled; Tollefson advanced to third and scored on a throwing error that was thrown into the dugout
- Today's game was the longest game the Mavericks have played since March 31, 2019 when they played North Dakota to 13 innings
- Maggie O'Brien had three of the Mavericks six hits today. It's her second three-hit game of the season
