- Fighting against the wind and the heat today, five different Mavericks scored a kill in the first set, with Amanda Hardt leading the way with three total. Shayla McCormick book-ended the set for Omaha with its first and last kill, as the Huskers went on to take the first set after taking advantage of several Omaha service and attack errors.
- Omaha tied Nebraska early on at 4-4 after Brynlee Arnold went up with Emily Huss to block her first shot of the season. After the Huskers went on a lengthy run that saw them go up 15-6, Rachel Fairbanks recorded her first kill of the season after spending the first two matches as a libero. Later, Huss would pick up the first kill of her collegiate career towards the end of the set.
- The Mavericks had a nice run early on to get within one point of Nebraska following back-to-back kills from McKenna Ruch and Hardt and an ace from McCormick. Six Husker errors gave Omaha some late life, but in the end it was not enough to make up the gap.
- Making her first career start, Erica Fava led the team with 10 digs.
- Hardt was tied for the team lead with five kills, giving her 18 kills on the season; the most of any Mavericks newcomer this year.
