Mavericks Set To Begin Fall Season In Missouri

Springfield, Mo.-- The Omaha women's golf team begins the 2023 fall season in Springfield, Mo. at the Payne Stewart Memorial golf tournament hosted by Missouri State.
The Bears welcome Austin Peay, California Baptist, Creighton, Drury, Houston Christian, Lindenwood, Loyola Chicago, Oklahoma City, Omaha, Oral Roberts, Southern Illinois, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, UTEP, Western Illinois, Wichita State and Wyoming to the 17-team tournament at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, Mo.

Hansen is back in black and crimson for her sixth year of collegiate golf and second with the Mavericks. Last season, Hansen earned two top-10 finishes, including an individual medal for first place at the WIU Invitational (Apr. 3-4). She helped the Mavericks record a program-best team scoring average of 310.4.
Macarena returns for her sophomore season at Omaha. In her first year, Garcia had a scoring average of 79.7 playing in all 33 rounds for the Mavericks. Garcia scored 68 (-3) in the third round of the Kelsey Chugg Invitational (Sept. 20).
Karmazin played all 33 rounds for Omaha as a freshman, garnering a scoring average of 79.0. Emily secured two top-10 finishes last year, taking fourth place at the Kelsey Chugg Invitational (Sept. 19-20) and tying for seventh place at the WIU Invitational (Apr. 3-4).
Taake remains in the lineup, where she has been since her first event as a freshman. The junior has played 63-straight rounds for the Mavericks and has yet to miss a tournament. Last season, Taake had the second-best scoring average on the team at 78.3. Sydney had two top-10 finishes last year, taking fourth place at the Big O Classic (Oct. 3-4) and the WIU Invitational (Apr. 3-4).
Miyata enters her senior year with the Mavericks coming off a career season in 2021-22. Last year, Mika posted the best scoring average of her career at 79.1, playing all 33 rounds for Omaha. Miyata had two top-20 finishes, earning 17th place at the Islander Classic (Feb. 20-21) and 14th place at the WIU Invitational (Apr. 3-4).
INDV. Lavinia Romito
Romito joins the Mavericks after two seasons with Holy Names University in California. The junior from Verona, Italy looks to make an impact with her new team after HNU was unable to offer an athletic program in 2023.
INDV. Emma Kirvan
Kirvan competed in 15 rounds last season. As a sophomore in 2022-23, Emma recorded a scoring average of 81.7. Kirvan scored a career-best round of 76 at the Lady Red Wolves Classic (Oct. 14) and used that to post a 54-hole score of 237, her best three-round total as a Maverick.
