
Mavericks Finish Wildcat Invitational In Thirteenth

Manhattan, Kan.-- The Omaha men's golf team finished the Wildcat Invitational in 13th place after the final round on Monday, Sept. 18.
The Mavericks scored 306 in the third round at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, totaling 894 after two days of golf. Omaha finished three strokes behind South Dakota, which scored 891 to take 12th place. The Mavericks ended five strokes ahead of Houston Christian, which took 14th place with a score of 899. The host, Kansas State, won the event with a team score of 847. Grand Canyon's Nicky Kling earned the individual medal with a three-round total of 203.
Nolan Johnson led the Mavericks with a total score of 220. Johnson scored 75 (+3) in the final round on Tuesday for a share of 27th place on the leaderboard.
Marvin Luchutaskul tied for 42nd place in his first event with the Mavericks. The freshman from Bangkok, Thailand scored 76 (+4) in round three for a 54-hole total of 223. Connor Wilson finished two strokes behind Luchutaskul with a two-day total of 225. Wilson tied for 57th place after a 78 (+6) in the third round.
Christopher Atkinson finished in 74th place, and Austin Goodrum tied for 75th. Atkinson scored 77 (+5) in the final round for a total score of 234. Goodrum totaled 238 after a 79 (+7) in the final round.
The Mavericks head to Illinois next week for the SIUE Dolenc Invitational. Action from Edwardsville, Ill., begins on Monday, Sept. 25.
