
Mavericks in 11th, Atkinson in 15th After Two Rounds at SIUE

Madison, Ill.-- The Omaha men's golf team is in 11th place at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational after rounds one and two on Monday, Sept. 25.
The Mavericks scored 286 in the first round and 288 in the second round for a day-one total of 574 at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Ill. Omaha sits three strokes behind 10th-place Murray State, and two strokes ahead of 12th-place Green Bay. SIUE leads its own event with a 36-hole total of 544. SIUE's Anthony Ruthey owns first place on the individual leaderboard with a score of 130 through two rounds.
Christopher Atkinson leads the Mavericks after scoring his career-best single round score in the second round on Monday. Adding to an even 71 in round one, the junior used an eagle and four birdies to post a score of 68 (-3) in round two for a 36-hole score of 139. Atkinson shares 15th place overall heading into the final round on Tuesday.
Connor Wilson scored 143 over the first two rounds. Wilson scored 69 (-2) in the first round of the Dolenc Invitational with an eagle on a par-four hole No. 1 and three birdies. Connor followed with a 74 (+3) in the second round and shares 35th place on the leaderboard.
Nolan Johnson birdied five holes in the first round for a score of 72 (+1). The sophomore birdied four-straight in the second round and leads the team with nine birdies over 36 holes. Johnson scored 73 (+2) in the second round and is tied for 40th place with a total score of 145 so far.
Two strokes behind Johnson is Austin Goodrum. Goodrum holds 63rd place after a two-round total of 147. The junior scored 74 (+3) in round one, improving to 73 (+2) in round two. Marvin Luchutaskul shares 74th place after a day-one score of 151. The freshman scored 77 (+6) in the first round, and 74 (+3) in the second round.
