
Mavericks Battle to 10th Place at SIUE Dolenc Invitational

Madison, Ill.-- The Omaha men's golf team finished in 10th place after the final round of the SIUE Dolenc Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
The Mavericks scored 281 in the third round, totaling 855 throughout the tournament at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Ill. Omaha finished three strokes behind ninth-place Idaho, and four strokes ahead of 11th-place Murray State. SIUE won the Dolenc Invitational with a total score of 818. UT Martin's Dax Isbell earned the individual medal with a total score of 197.
Christopher Atkinson and Connor Wilson garnered their first top-20 finishes of the season. Atkinson led the Mavericks with a 54-hole score of 210 after an even 71 in the final round to finish in a tie for 15th place overall. Wilson finished a stroke behind Atkinson with 211 throughout the event and tied for 18th place. Connor scored 68 (-3) in the final round with four birdies. Both Wilson and Atkinson recorded two par-or-better rounds at the Dolenc Invitational.
Nolan Johnson ended with a share of 36th place after a round-three score of 70 (-1). The sophomore totaled 215 over three rounds in Madison, Ill. Austin Goodrum recorded a score of 72 (+1) for a total of 219. Goodrum took home a share of 55th place on the leaderboard. Marvin Luchutaskul scored 76 (+5) for a total score of 227. The freshman earned 78th place in his second tournament with the Mavericks.
The Mavericks return home to host the Big O Classic on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 2-3. Action from Indian Creek Golf Course in Elkhorn, Neb., is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. on both days.
