
Mavericks Set to Host Big O Classic

Omaha, Neb.- The Omaha men's and women's golf teams are set to host the Big O Classic on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 2-3.
The 54-hole tournament co-hosted by the Mavericks and the Bluejays of Creighton is a two-day event with the first two rounds on Monday and the final round on Tuesday. The women will play at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha while the men play at Indian Creek golf course in Elkhorn, Neb.
Twelve teams are in the field on the women's side of the Big O Classic. Joining Omaha and Creighton on the par-73 course measuring 6,088 yards are Idaho State, Missouri State, Montana, Northern Colorado, St. Thomas, South Dakota State, Northern Iowa, UTRGV, Western Illinois and Wichita State.
Action from the women's Big O Classic begins on Monday, Oct. 2 with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. Day two from Oak Hills begins at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday with another shotgun start. The Mavericks have all eight golfers in the lineup for the women's side of the tournament.

Fourteen teams make up the field on the men's side of the Big O Classic. Joining the two teams on both Omaha and Creighton are Dodge City CC, Hutchinson CC, Indian Hills CC, Lindenwood, North Dakota, Northern Iowa, St. Thomas, Weber State, Western Illinois and Wichita State on the par-72 course measuring 7,627 yards.
Teams competing in the men's Big O Classic start at 9:00 a.m. on Monday Oct. 2, with the final round beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Omaha fields two teams for the men's side of the tournament.
