
Omaha in 11th After Opening Round at The Johnie

The Mavericks scored 305 in the first round at the Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Mo., and hold 11th place after the opening 18 holes. Omaha sits a stroke behind 10th-place Creighton, and three strokes ahead of 12th-place Northern Illinois. Florida International leads The Johnie with a round one score of 282, and FIU's Agustina Gomez Cisterna sits at the top of the individual leaderboard after scoring 65 (-7) in round one.Â
Macarena Garcia and Emily Karmazin lead the Mavericks with matching scores of 74 (+2) in the first round on Monday. Garcia has led the Mavericks through four-straight rounds to begin the 2023-24 season. The sophomores share 26th place on the leaderboard ahead of the second round on Tuesday. Karmazin is scheduled to tee off at 9:30 a.m., and Garcia will follow her at 9:39 a.m.Â
Sydney Taake is in 49th place after round one. Taake scored 78 (+6) over the first 18 holes, scoring an eagle on a par-five hole No. 9. Taake will tee off at 9:21 a.m. to begin the second round.Â
Nicole Hansen finished the first round a stroke behind Taake with a score of 79 (+7). Hansen will begin the second round at 9:12 a.m., in 56th place overall.Â
Lavinia Romito is tied for 71st after an 84 in round one. Romito will begin round two for the Mavericks on Tuesday as she is scheduled to tee off at 9:03 a.m.Â
