Mueller Tabbed NCHC Forward of the Week after Four-Point Weekend

Omaha Mavericks junior centerman Ty Mueller has been named the Week 13 NCHC Forward of the Week after a four-point road trip against then No. 4 North Dakota.
In the opening game of the weekend, Mueller tallied a goal and two assists. The Vancouver Canucks draft pick scored his goal on the power play to end a barrage of three second period lamp lighters. Mueller's goal erased the third North Dakota lead of the night and tied the game at 4-4. The Cochrane, Alberta native's first assist of the night was an NCHC Top Play nominee as he received a lead pass and backhanded a spin-o-rama pass right to the tape of a breaking Brock Bremer who netted Omaha's third goal of the evening. Mueller's final point of Friday's victory came as the primary on assist on Jack Randl's overtime winner.
The Omaha forward also had a key role in the Mavericks lone Saturday night goal. Coming down on a 2-on-1, he fed Tanner Ludtke a perfect saucer pass to put home and equalize the game at 1-1 early in the third period.
Mueller logged a +2 weekend and won 19 of the 33 (57.6%) faceoffs he took.
This is Mueller's first Forward of the Week award of his career. He currently leads all Mavericks in points (17), goals (7), assists (10), shots on goal (59) and multi-point games (4).
Mueller and the No. 19 Mavericks return to Baxter Arena for the first time since December 9 this weekend when they welcome the No. 5 Denver Pioneers to town.
