Omaha Volleyball welcomes 2 as part of 2025 signing class

OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha volleyball has signed Jordyn Anderson and Faith Venable to the program's 2025 signing class, it was announced Wednesday, Nov. 13.
"Both of the players in this class are hard-working players who are accustomed to having a large role on their club and high school teams," said head coach Matt Buttermore. "They will bring great intensity and communication to our gym, two things we really value. They have very high ceilings and I'm excited they're both Mavericks!"
Jordyn Anderson
Jordyn Anderson joins Omaha from Ludington, Mich. where she attends Ludington High School. A multi-sport athlete playing basketball and volleyball, Anderson has primarily been a setter on the volleyball court and finished her high school career with 2,540 assists, 631 kills, 304 blocks, 1,104 digs and 262 aces. As a senior, Anderson led the Orioles in assists (539), digs (373) and aces (86). A multi-time all-conference selection, Anderson earned three First Team All-Conference honors and was named First Team All-Area and First Team All-Region as a junior with her senior year accolades still to come. During her third year at Ludington, Anderson helped lead the squad to a 42-12-2 record, winning the conference regular season and tournament titles en route to the Orioles' first district title since 2004 and first regional championship since 1997. That year's team finished as a state quarterfinalist.
Anderson is expected to major in kinesiology at Omaha and enjoys being outdoors, taking part in camping and hunting, in addition to spending time with family and friends.
Matt Buttermore on Anderson: "Jordyn is a tall, long and athletic setter, who will do a great job of setting in our offense as she catches up to the speed of the college game. She can also hit, so she can impact our gym in a variety of ways."
Faith Venable
From Lincoln, Neb., Faith Venable arrives in Omaha from Pius X High School where she rewrote the Thunderbolts' volleyball record book. Playing both outside hitter and middle blocker, Venable saw varsity action as a freshman on a 23-5 team. As a sophomore, the Pius X student-athlete was named HAC Honorable Mention and All-City Second Team. In her junior campaign, Venable rose to Class A First Team All-State, Class A Super State, Third Team All-Conference, First Team Academic All-Conference, All-City First Team and NCPA Academic All-State. Qualifying for the state tournament, Venable holds the Pius X records for most kills in a match (36) and single-season kills (526).
A member of the National Honor Society, Venable will major in sports journalism and enjoys exercising and reading away from volleyball.

Omaha volleyball concludes the home regular season this week beginning with a Summit League showdown against Denver tonight, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. at Baxter Arena followed by senior night vs. South Dakota on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. with both matches airing on the Summit League Network.
