Senior catcher Sydney Ross earned the TicketSmarter Summit League Softball Peak Performer of the Week after her performance at the Lion Invitational.
In the batter's box, Ross stepped up to the plate 13 times where she notched nine hits, including two doubles against Abilene Christian Saturday. She scored six runs and recorded eight RBIs on her nine hits. In total this weekend she batted a .692.
Behind the plate, Ross made 27 putouts in addition to one assist and zero errors to maintain a perfect 1.00 fielding percentage.
Ross and the Mavericks will take the road to Arizona State for their last road tournament before playing at home. Omaha will play this March 1-3, matching up with ASU, North Florida, James Madison, and UC San Diego.
