Mavericks Dominate Purdue to Complete Road Sweep and Extend Win Streak to 10

West Lafayette, Ind.- The Omaha Mavericks complete the sweep of Big 10 opponent Purdue in a dominant 6-5 win Saturday afternoon. The Mavericks were boosted to victory with five unanswered runs.
The Mavericks improve to a 21-7 overall record on the campaign and extend their winning streak to 10. Omaha has now picked up four wins against Power 5 opponents.

How It Happened
- Leading off the day, Lynsey Tucker was walked on a 4-0 count. Ava Rongisch, in the cleanup spot, hit a two-out RBI single to right field to put the Mavericks up 1-0 in the top of the first.
- Kamryn Meyer had a hot start with three straight strikeouts in the top of the first.
- The Mavericks put up four additional runs in the top of the first.
- The first run in the second was scored by Jaelle Johnson who tagged up on third with bases loaded to score on Maggie O'Brien's sacrifice fly to left field.
- During the next at-bat, Sydney Thomason hit a three-run home run to left field.
- Meyer had another three straight strikeouts in the bottom of the second.
- Purdue scored their first run in the bottom of the sixth with a sacrifice fly to left field.
- Lynsey Tucker hit an RBI single to center, scoring in Jaelle Johnson for the sixth run.
- Purdue rallied in the bottom of the seventh with two runs on a double to left field and another two with a single to left field.
- With the score 6-5, a runner on first, and only one out, Tucker made a double at second and first to finish the game.
