Mavericks Close Out the Bama Beach Bash

GULF SHORES, Ala. - The Mavericks completed a weather-shortened Bama Beach Bash yesterday by finishing with a score of 625 (+49) and finishing in 12th place. The event was originally scheduled to be 54 holes in three rounds, but was limited to 36 holes in two rounds due to inclement weather on Sunday.

Sam Houston won the 17-team event with a score of 585 (+9), while Avery Blake of Oral Roberts won the individual title at 142 (-2).

Mika Miyata was Omaha's top performer after scoring a 152 (+8), tying her for 27th out of 100. She got off to a solid start in round one, posting the best single-round score of any Maverick in the tournament with a 73 (+1) and ending the day tied for 10th place. Also finishing in the top 50 was Emily Karmazin, who sat in 56th place after round one but finished strong with a 74 (+2) in round two to end the competition tied for 33rd with a score of 153 (+9).

Emma Kirvan and Lavinia Romito both finished tied for 60th with identical scores of 159 (+15). Four strokes behind them was Nicole Hansen, who finished tied for 80th, and tied for 83rd was Macarena Garcia Terron who ended at an even +20. Rounding out the Mavericks squad was Sydney Taake with a score of 169 (+25) to tie for 92nd.
