The No. 16 Omaha Mavericks hockey team is proud to partner with Methodist Hospital and Leap-For-A-Cure for their annual the annual Leap-For-A-Cure night during Friday's game against No. 3 North Dakota.
All dollars raised from Friday's game donations as well as those from the online jersey auction will be donated to Leap-For-A-Cure. The online jerseys auction will be the fan favorite gray jerseys that the Mavericks have been wearing on Saturday nights of home series. The auction for the alternative grays will go live online this Friday, March 8 at 5 p.m. and will remain open until Thursday, March 14 at 8 p.m.
Leap-For-A-Cure was founded in July 2008 by the family of Heather Roberts, who succumbed to her battle with glioblastoma brain cancer in November 2016 at the age of 37. Their mission is to raise awareness of brain cancer, with the goal of providing education and diagnostic treatment options for brain cancer and brain trauma patients and families.
To date, Leap-For-A-Cure's efforts have raised over $1 million to fund equipment, technology, and resources for Methodist patients.
Be sure to stop by the Leap-For-A-Cure table on the concourse during the game to learn more.
