Meyer and Tucker Sweep Summit League Awards

After a series win over South Dakota State, Omaha ace Kamryn Meyer along with graduate infielder Lynsey Tucker have swept the final Summit League weekly awards. For the fourth time this season, Meyer was tabbed as Summit League Peak Pitcher of the Week. Tucker picks up her first Peak Performer of the Week on the campaign.
Meyer pitched a gem in the opening game of the weekend. She threw seven shutout innings in the appearance giving up just two hits while striking out six. The outing was Meyer's seventh complete game shutout of her career. The victory marked Meyer's 22nd win of the season which maintains the longest victory streak among DI pitchers. Meyer also grabbed her fourth save of the season coming in to close out game three to secure the series victory.
Tucker went 6-8 this weekend with three walks. In the bottom of the 2nd inning of Saturday's game, she cranked her fifth home run of the season. The two-run shot put the Mavericks up 5-2. The Lincoln, Nebraska native finished the series with six RBI's and two runs. Tucker also finished the weekend with a perfect field percentage logging seven putouts and four assists.
Meyer, Tucker and the Mavericks head to Brookings, South Dakota this week to defend their Summit League Championship of last season. Earning an opening round bye, the Mavericks will play their first game of the tournament on Thursday.
