Rongisch named first 2025 Kwik Star #SummitSB Player of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Omaha softball junior outfielder Ava Rongisch's offensive output in the opening five games of the 2025 season earned the Omaha native the first Kwik Star #SummitSB Player of the Week honor, as announced by the Summit League office Monday.
Rongisch started all five games in the UNI-Dome tournament this past weekend as the Mavericks powered to a 4-1 start. The left fielder logged a 1.625 OPS after logging seven hits, including five for extra bases. Rongisch hit a trio of home runs, including a three-run shot against Loyola Chicago on Feb. 8 to break a 4-4 tie in the sixth.
Rongisch batted in three runs in each of Omaha's first three games and contributed a pair of RBI against Drake on Feb. 8. Rongisch knocked a pair of doubles as well, reaching scoring position against Northern Iowa (Feb. 7) and Drake.
Her four multi-RBI games lead Omaha on the young season.
Drawing a pair of walks as well with a hit-by-pitch, Rongisch succeeded in her lone stolen base attempt on the weekend.
In the field, RongischĀ made five catches for five putouts without recording an error.
The Mavericks return to action in Florida on Friday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. CT against Big Ten member Wisconsin as part of the FGCU Invitational in Fort Meyers, Fla.
