Gainer Named Kwik Star #SummitBSB Peak Pitcher of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - After firing 2.1 perfect innings in relief and earning the win in a historic upset against No. 3 LSU, Luke Gainer has been named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Pitcher of the Week.
Coming in to relieve starter Ben Weber with two outs in the fourth inning, Gainer was absolutely lights out against one of the top offenses in the country. He faced seven batters and retired each one on just 27 pitches. He ended the fifth with back-to-back strikeouts on eight pitches, before finishing his day in the sixth with a three-pitch punchout. Gainer's performance came as part of 7.2 no-hit innings from Omaha's pitching staff, beginning with Weber and ending with Oliver Mabee.
This is the second weekly honor of Gainer's career.
