Bishop Picks Up Omaha's First Player of the Week Honor of the Season

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - After leading h Mavericks to a weekend sweep over Northern Colorado, Tyler Bishop has been named the team's first Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week. He joins Luke Gainer, who was previously named Peak Pitcher of the Week, as the first two Mavericks to earn a weekly honor this season.
In four games last week, beginning with a midweek matchup with Creighton, Bishop batted 5-for-15 with four extra-base hits, seven RBIs, and eight runs scored. He had multiple RBIs and runs in all three games against UNC, as well as two multi-hit games. His biggest hit came in game one of Friday's doubleheader when he walked off the Bears with a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth. He also ended the month of March on a 12-game on-base streak.
This is Bishop's second career weekly honor, having previously won last year on April 15.
