LAWRENCE, Kan. - Omaha Women's Basketball battled (RV) Kansas on Tuesday night before falling 66-48 in the season opener.

The Mavericks (0-1) went point-for-point in the first two quarters against the Jayhawks (1-0), but Kansas pulled away in the third and created a deficit that Omaha could not overcome.

KU outscored the Mavs 21-5 in the third quarter after barely outscoring Omaha in the first two. In the fourth, the Mavericks outscored the Jayhawks 15-11.

Sophomore forward Aduke Ojullu (Lakeville, Minn.) led the Mavs in scoring with 10 points in her first game as a Mav. Ojullu joined the team as a freshman, but was sidelined last season with an injury.
