Baseball drops game one against Northern Colorado

Northern Colorado scored nine unanswered runs in the middle innings as the Bears took advantage of six Omaha errors.
Omaha (7-12, 3-1 Summit) took a 2-0 lead in the third inning as Henry Zipay and Jackson Trout hit back-to-back doubles down the third-base line for the first run before Cardel Dick delivered an RBI single to right.
But a two-out error in the top of the fourth opened the door to two runs for Northern Colorado (4-20, 2-1). The Bears kept the momentum in the middle innings as they scored four in the fifth and three in the sixth for a 9-2 lead.
Omaha got two runs back in the bottom of the sixth when Edoardo Cornelli lined a double into the right-center gap to score Hayden Lewis and Sam Beck. But Omaha didn't have a baserunner over the final three innings.
Trout had three of Omaha's seven hits on the day.
Omaha and Northern Colorado continue their series at 4 p.m. CT Saturday.
