Men’s Tennis Wraps Day One at Washburn Invite

TOPEKA, Kan. - Omaha Men's Tennis wrapped up day one of the Washburn Invite on Friday afternoon.
Four Mavericks competed on day one of the invite. In doubles, senior Matej Kajzer (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) and sophomore Anthony Scheglowski (Lakeville, Minn.) secured an early win in doubles with a 6-2 victory over Yuto Miyagawa and Keita Kurods from Washburn.
In singles, Scheglowski finished the day 2-0 after a 6-4, 6-4 win against Onyx Cheong of Pratt and a 6-2, 3-3 (ret.) win over Santa Totani of Crowley County.
Freshman Noah Greni (Rapid City, S.D.) went undefeated in his first tournament as a Maverick. He beat McKendree's Emile Potgens 7-5, 1-6, 10-8 before sweeping Crowley County's Haruma Otsuka 6-0, 6-0.
Day two of the invite will kick off at 9 a.m. CT.
