Mavs Fall to No. 1 Bison in Semifinals, 18-13
CLEVELAND, O. -- North Dakota State edged the Mavericks 18-13 Saturday in the semifinals of the NWCA National Dual Tournament, sending UNO into the consolation bracket against Ashland Sunday at 8 a.m. CST. Dustin Tovar, Mitch Waitt, Nate Oviatt and Les Sigman all posted wins for the Mavs against the No. 1 ranked Bison.
Oviatt, at 184 pounds, and heavyweight Sigman, each had pins to lead the No. 4 ranked Mavericks into the semifinals in the NWCA National Dual Tournament Saturday with a 34-12 win over Wisconsin-Parkside.
The Mavericks breezed past Gannon, 35-3, Saturday morning in the first round of the tournament. UNO won nine of 10 matches in posting the win in their first dual meet of the season.
