Mavs Send 8 to Nationals; Sigman, Tovar Win
ST. CLOUD, MINN. -- Dustin Tovar and Les Sigman captured individual titles, leading a list of 8 Mavericks who qualified for the NCAA II national meet Sunday at the North Regional Tournament. The Mavericks finished second as a team behind No. 1 ranked North Dakota State.
Tovar won the 125 pound title while Sigman, the defending national champion, won the heavyweight division.
In addition, Mitch Waite, Patrick Allibone, Chas DeVetter and J.D. Naig all finished second. Eli Dominguez and Ben Strandberg both finished fourth.
The national tournament is March 12-13 in Mankato, Minn.
