No. 2 Central Oklahoma Pins Mavs, 22-12
EDMOND, OKLA. -- No. 2 Central Oklahoma won seven matches Friday night to defeat the No. 3 Mavericks, 22-12, in a non-conference wrestling match. The Mavs, who wrestle at No. 12 Nebraska-Kearney Saturday night, fell to 6-2 on the dual season with the loss.
No. 1 ranked heavyweight Les Sigman, 157-pounder Chas DeVetter and 141-pounder Eli Dominguez won matches for the Mavericks. Sigman, the defending NCAA II champion, improved to 33-1 with the 3-0 victory over UCO's No. 8 ranked Chris Finn.
Dominguez upped his record to 21-7 with a 10-5 decision over Wade Bramlitt and DeVetter improved to 13-2 by pinning Zach Rhodes in 3:55.
The win by DeVetter forged a 9-9 tie midway through the match, but the Bronchos reeled off four straight decisions to clinch the win, the third straight by Central Oklahoma over the Mavericks.
