Allibone Earns 2nd Team Academic Honor
Sophomore Patrick Allibone has been named to the 10-member second-team of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Men's At-Large team by a vote of the district's sports information directors.
Allibone, the national 157-pound champion in this spring's NCAA II wrestling tournament, is a sophomore from Sioux City, Iowa, who carries a 3.69 cumulative grade point average while majoring in biotechnology. A two-time All-american, Allibone was 35-7 last season and is 71-20 for his career. He finished second at 149 pounds in the national meet as a freshman.
The at-large team is comprised of athletes from wrestling, tennis, golf and swimming and diving. Those on the 10-member all-district first team will advance to the national ballot.
