OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Volleyball closed out its home tournament with a sweep of Chicago State on Saturday afternoon.

The Mavericks (3-2) won the first set 25-11, the second set 25-20 and the final set 25-10 over the Cougars (0-6).

Omaha tallied 44 kills to Chicago State's 14. The Mavs ended the match with an attack percentage of 34.9%, five service aces and nine total team blocks.

In each Maverick win so far this season, Omaha has swept their opponent.

Sophomore Lara Marić (Brisbane, Australia) recorded 14 kills to lead Omaha. Marić led the Mavs in kills in each match of the Omaha tournament. Just five matches into the season, the outside hitter is already up to 59 kills and well on her way to surpassing last season's total of 98 kills.

It was a regular block party for the Mavericks. Of the 11 Mavs that checked into the match, eight recorded some sort of block. Junior outside hitter Alizabeth Jacobson (Neola, Iowa) finished the match with a pair of solo blocks and a pair of assisted blocks.

The nonconference season is coming to a rapid end with only five matches left until Summit League play begins. Omaha will hit the road to play in a tournament hosted by Northern Arizona. The Mavs will face their hosts at 7 p.m. CT on Thursday, Sept. 10, then play UC Riverside on Friday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. CT. The weekend in Arizona will end with Grand Canyon on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 12 p.m. CT.
