Volleyball Falls to NAU, 3-1

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Omaha Volleyball fell to Northern Arizona, 3-1, on the first day of the Lumberjack Classic on Thursday night.
The Mavericks (3-3) won the first set 25-19 over the Lumberjacks (5-3), who won 25-17 in the second set, 25-23 in the third and 25-21 in the fourth and final set.
Sophomore Lara Marić (Brisbane, Australia) led the Mavs in kills for the fourth match in a row with 17 kills to tie her career high. Freshman middle blocker Dara Obeid (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) was next up with 13 kills.
Marić finished the night with a pair of solo blocks as well.
Junior setter Maddie Stuesser (Austin, Texas) doubled her season total of service aces with three against the Lumberjacks, bringing the total to six. She also recorded her 200th assist of the season with 42, bringing her season total to 225 and her career total to 1,245.
The Mavericks will be back in action tomorrow night against UC Riverside at 5 p.m. CT. The match will not be streamed, but live stats will be available.
