Volleyball Defeats UC Riverside for Fourth Sweep of the Year

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Omaha Volleyball swept UC Riverside for its fourth sweep of the season on Friday afternoon.
The Mavericks (4-3) won their three sets, 25-13, 25-20 and 25-18, over the Highlanders (2-6). Four sweeps during the nonconference portion of the season are the most since Omaha recorded four sweeps in the 2019 nonconference slate.
Graduate outside hitter Madi Corf (Kansas City, Mo.) tallied 12 kills for the Mavs and hit .429. Sophomore outside hitter Faith Venable (Lincoln, Neb.) also recorded 12 kills and hit .385.
Junior setter Maddie Stuesser (Austin, Texas) now leads Omaha in service aces with eight this season.
The Mavs recorded 49 kills in just three sets, the most of any win so far this season.
Omaha will conclude its weekend at the Lumberjack Classic against Grand Canyon at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 12. The match will not be streamed, but live stats will be available.
