CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Sophomore Ryan Pankoke (165 pounds) and senior Ross Taplin (174 pounds) each placed first in their respective weight classes to pace the University of Nebraska at Omaha wrestling team Sunday in the Northern Iowa Open at the UNI-Dome.
Six Mavericks placed in the tournament out of the 12 UNO wrestlers that competed.
Pankoke went 5-0 in the meet, defeating Iowa State's Andrew Sorenson 5-2 in the championship match.
Taplin won all four of his matches, downing Jake Kerr of Iowa, 7-3 in the title bout.
Freshman Matt Baker went 1-2 in the meet, placing fourth.
