Ben Maskus joined the Omaha men's golf team staff as a volunteer assistant coach in the fall of 2017.
Maskus played for the Mavericks for two seasons, leading the team in scoring each season. As a senior, he set a school record with a stroke average of 75 which helped him finish his eligibility with UNO's top career stroke average (75.2).Â
As a junior, Maskus was a member of the Summit League All-Tournament Team for finishing in a three-way tie for second at the Summit League Championship with a one-over score of 217. That same season, he posted the best 54-hole score in school history, a score of 213 at the Desert Shootout (March 18-19, 2016). Also that season, he earned UNO's first Summit League Golfer of the Week Award for his performance at the Desert Shootout.
Maskus was named to the Summit League Academic All-League Team as a senior and was a member of the Summit League Academic Honor Roll in each season.
