
SDSU Defeats Mavericks in Four Games

Omaha, Neb. -- South Dakota State picked up its first conference victory of the season as the Jackrabbits defeated Nebraska-Omaha 3-1 (30-24, 25-30, 30-25, 30-19) before 445 fans at the Sapp Fieldhouse Saturday night, Oct. 11. The Mavericks drop to 10-12 overall and 1-5 in the North Central Conference, while South Dakota State improved to 11-9 overall and 1-5 in the NCC.
Junior outside hitter Amy McLeay picked up her 15th double-double of the season, while leading UNO with 16 kills, 17 digs, and three blocks. Sophomore middle blocker Ashley Freeman added 11 kills and a career-high eight blocks, while junior outside hitter Jenny Rankin produced 10 kills and eight digs in the loss.
The Mavericks were plagued by 16 service errors in the match, compared to just two service aces.
UNO will host South Dakota on Saturday, Oct. 18 beginning at 6 p.m. in the Sapp Fieldhouse.
