Mavs to Host Central Regional Nov. 14 & 16

The Mavs were picked Monday to host the NCAA Central Region tournament after North Dakota was chosen as the top school but passed up a bid to host. As the No. 2 seed, the Mavs will host and play third-seeded Truman State in a semifinal matchup at 1:30 p.m. Friday and UND will rematch with No. 4 Minnesota State, Mankato at 11 a.m. in the other match. The winner of those two games will meet on Sunday at noon.
UNO (14-3-2) dropped out of the top-twenty five for the first time since last year after losing two straight. The Mavs will look to end the losing streak when they play Truman, a team they have outscored 8-0 in the last three meetings.

The Mavs' match with Truman will be the fourth between the two schools in the last two years. The two teams met in the regular seasons both years and UNO ended the Bulldogs' season with a 3-0 win in last year's regional championship match. Overall, UNO holds a 5-1 advantage in the series record with the only Bulldog win coming in 2001.
MSU and UND will meet fresh off last week's NCC title match. The two played to a 2-2 double-overtime tie and the Mavericks took home the championship with a 3-1 win in the shootout. Officially, the match goes down as a tie, ending UND's five game losing streak to MSU. Minnesota State leads the all-time series 5-0-1.
Overall, the Mavs have a 17-4-0 all-time record against the three tournament teams.

MSU continued its climb, now at 16th and Truman State remained the 8th ranked team. Metro State, the Midwest Region's top team, remains No. 1 in the nation.
