Mavs Snap Six-Match Losing Skid

St. Cloud, Minn. -- Led by junior Amy McLeay's 18 kills and career-high .586 hitting percentage (18k-1e-29a), the University of Nebraska at Omaha snapped a six-match losing skid with a 3-0 (30-27, 30-21, 30-25) victory over St. Cloud State in North Central Conference volleyball action before 294 fans at Halenbeck Hall Friday night in St. Cloud, Minn. McLeay recorded her team-high 19th double-double of the season, adding 10 digs in the victory.
Sophomore setter Christie Johnson blasted a team-high six service aces, as the Mavericks held an 11-2 advantage over the Huskies in service aces. Johnson added 17 assists and 10 digs. Joining McLeay with double-figure kills were sophomore Ashley Freeman and junior Jenny Rankin, who each tallied 10 kills on the night.
Three Mavericks hit .350 or above as Nebraska-Omaha outhit St. Cloud State .240 to .148.
The Mavericks, who improved to 11-17 overall and 2-10 in the NCC, will travel to Mankato, Minn. on Saturday night, Nov. 8, for a 7 p.m. match with 16th-ranked Minnesota State, Mankato.
