Mavs Fall in Semifinals 1-0 to KSU

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA.- Second-ranked Kennesaw State topped the Mavs 1-0 in the semifinals of the NCAA tournament Thursday as UNO ended the season 17-4-2 and as national semifinalists. KSU's Alissa Saylor got the game-winner at the 59:23 mark to give the Owl's their 24th win and eighth-straight shutout.
The Mavs, after taking seven first-half shots, took just one in the second half and got outshot 13-8. Junior Ashley Grace led the Mavs with three shots and freshman Haley Fries took two before being taken out of the game with an injury with 23 minutes remaining.
Sophomore keeper Amy Price made five saves to keep the Mavs in the game but KSU's Jessica Marek stopped all seven of the Mav's shots on goal to send the Owl's to the championship game in just their second year as a program. They will play the winner of the UC San Diego-Franklin Pierce game Saturday night.
