
UNO Falls To Washburn at NCAA Tournament

The University of Nebraska at Omaha Maverick women's tennis team ended its season with a 5-1 loss to Washburn in the opening round of NCAA regional play today in Maryville, Mo. on the campus of Northwest Missouri State. Nebraska-Omaha finished the season with a 10-6 dual record.
The doubles team of Mikaila Spalding and Abby Wilson earned the only Maverick victory in the team's first trip to the NCAA Tournament. Washburn, who defeated the Mavericks, 7-2, earlier in the year, will face Northwest Missouri State for a chance to advance to Nationals.
The Mavericks finished third at the 2003 North Central Conference Championships and set a school record with their 10h dual win in only their third year of competition.
