Maverick Soccer Coach Signs Two-Year Contract

University of Nebraska at Omaha women's soccer coach Don Klosterman, who has led the team to a 68-16 four-year record and last year guided the team to the national championship match, has signed a two-year contract, Athletic Director Bob Danenhauer said today. The contract is subject to approval by the University's Board of Regents and runs through July, 2005.
"Don has done an outstanding job of building the women's soccer program from the ground up," Danenhauer said. "He's created a model program and has provided opportunities for local athletes to further their soccer careers on the collegiate level. The result has been one of the best programs in Division II in just four seasons."
Klosterman was named the national coach of the year last year after UNO won the North Central Conference title and advanced to the championship match in the NCAA II tournament with a 22-1 record. UNO lost, 2-1, to Christian Brothers in the title game.
Klosterman's teams have won three straight NCC tournament crowns.
