Mavericks Fall to Southwest Minnesota State in 4

MARSHALL, MINN. -- Southwest Minnesota State won the first two games and went on to post a 3-1 win over the Mavericks in a non-conference volleyball match Thursday night, 30-23, 31-29, 29-31, 30-17. Amy Sibbernsen led UNO with 14 kills and Alyssa Matthes added 11 as the Mavericks' record fell to 9-7 on the season. Ashley Wells' 14 kills led the Mustangs, who are now 8-3. The Mavericks are idle until opening North Central Conference play at home Sept. 26 when they host Minnesota State, Mankato at Sapp Fieldhouse at 7 p.m.
