Mavs Sign Omaha Bryan Standout

Head Coach Kevin McKenna said today that Matthew Culliver, a six-foot guard from Omaha Bryan High School, has signed a national letter of intent to attend UNO next fall and play basketball for the Mavericks. Culliver is the first recruit signed by McKenna and the Mavs for 2005-06.
Culliver was a second-team all-Metro Conference selection and an all-state honorable mention in 2003-04 for the Bears. He averaged 17 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals last season as a junior. He scored 31 points against Omaha Central and 33 points vs. Omaha Northwest.
Culliver is the son of Patricia Culliver.
